What We're Building?
Most operating systems ship pre-loaded with decisions made for you — a fixed desktop environment, a fixed toolset, a fixed workflow. BS OS SE starts from the opposite direction: a raw, minimal base built on a custom kernel, with almost nothing assumed. You install exactly the plugins and extensions your work actually needs, and the system takes shape around you instead of the other way around.
Think of it in the spirit of projects like Qubes OS — modular, built around user control — but without Qubes' heavy, security-first isolation model. BS OS SE trades some of that lockdown for flexibility: a system you can genuinely shape into whatever you need, whether that's a stripped-down dev environment, a specialized setup, or something else entirely.
Where We Are?
BS OS SE is in active, early development. The kernel is being built from scratch — not forked from an existing OS — and v0.1.0 currently boots to a working command-line shell.
That's the honest, current status, and it's a real milestone. Getting a custom kernel from nothing to a functioning shell is one of the hardest, most foundational steps in operating systems development. It's the ground everything else gets built on.

What We're Building?
Hedge is a communication tool built to run directly in the terminal — no browser, no bloated app, just a direct, encrypted line between two users. One terminal talks to another through a dedicated server, routed over custom channeling logic built specifically for Hedge.
It's built for people who live in the terminal and want communication that's as fast and stripped-down as the rest of their workflow — without giving up encryption.
Where We Are?
Hedge T1 is a working model. It's real, functional, terminal-to-terminal encrypted messaging, routed through our own server infrastructure — not a concept, something that actually runs.
We're now building T2, focused on stronger security and a better overall experience.
